I figured out last night that evening exercise is not one of the better options for me. I went out to the park, across the street, after work -- and I felt like it almost killed me! Every step was an excruciating effort -- and I was only able to do about 20 minutes before I had to sit down. I find that at the end of the day I am just so tired that I have nothing left. Particularly if I have a really rough day at work, like yesterday was. So I decided to change it up, and see if doing exercise in the morning would be any better. I have always been a morning person anyway -- and since I feel better, and more alert in the morning it seemed like a better option. And since my sleep is still off, and I am up around 5:00 anyway -- I might as well get my exercise in early. Then I don't have to worry about talking myself into doing it later.
It actually worked really well this morning. I was able to complete my whole 30 minutes -- and I was feeling well worked, but energized when I was done. I also found that I was much more mentally alert by the time I got to the office. I feel more prepared for the day.
After reading through Bob's recommendations I have decided that I need to figure out the protien. It really frustrates me that it costs more to to eat healthy, than it does to eat the junk. I did stop by the store this morning to get some frozen veggies to keep at the office for lunch preparation -- so now I just have to figure out the protien. Also, I know I really need to make an effort to add water into my diet. I have several of those Crystal Light packages to add to water -- and I am hoping that those will help me get more water down.
I was also really glad for Mom's suggestions for snacks. I was wondering about that yesterday as well, when I realized that I was getting hungry in between meals. So I also picked up some low fat string cheese, and some fruit, and yogurt. Then this weekend I am hoping to go shopping -- maybe even with Mom to get things that I need for changing my diet over completely.
Thank you so much to all of you for the tips, and suggestions. As well as the encouragement. It really is helpful to be able to remind myself that I am not in this alone -- and that I have a support system behind me.

Proteins: handful of nuts (not cashews and nothing honey roasted or candy coated)--almonds, pecans, peanuts are good and pistachios are great as well! I know, they are high in fat but they are the good fats. You can add tuna to a salad if you like tuna. Beef Jerkey is good for protein but just be careful because this has high sodium and some of them have high fat as well. Eggs, shredded chicken in the can is good. Also Tyson has some awesome chicken that is already cooked and diced and seasons in little bags in the deli lunch meat aisle. They are great because they would be perfect proportions for you and they don't contain anything extra. You can eat just the chicken or add it to salads, you can cook a couple little tacos or do whatever you want with it!! Okay, I'm finally done!:) Oh wait!! Something I really like is lettuce wraps!! If you get some good lettuce like boston or butter or any of the leafy variety you can get some low-fat mayo and mix it with a little mustard and herbs (garlic powder, basil, oregano...whatever herbs you like--just season to taste) Then you add a slice of turkey or ham or any kind of meat. You can add some cheese if you aren't limiting cheese, low-fat mozzarella is good and any other veggies and wrap it all up in a big piece of lettuce....seriously delicious!!!!! Like a deli sandwich without the carbs!! And when going out...Subway has their six subs under 7 grams and they are awesome good...just don't add too many of the fatty extras. If I add cheese I don't get mayo or oil and vice versa....okay really, I'm done!!!!
keep it up Lisa your doing great :)

Hi there: Just read your note and what you are feeling sounds normal. Mornings have always been better for me but you need to remember that no two people are the same. Your body responds in it's own way and at the moment it thinks you are trying to kill it. Sneake up on it a little at a time. Five or ten minutes of walk is great at the moment. It will change day by day. Be sure to keep feeding your body a little of what it likes regularly. If it thinks you might be planning a sneak attack on all the great stuff it has grown to love it will just start increasing food storage to make sure it has enough.
I would guess you are now starting to feel pain in the muscles and joints and this also normal. Do not push your them past their limits. Give them a break if they need it. Listen to what it is telling you. Your stamina will increase as you drop weight. This thing is just like reading books. You did not start out reading for hours. It was a slow but steady process. The same is true with fitness.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

I know it isn't the best solution, but occasionally you can use protein powder. It can be mixed with anything liquid. I know Bob would hate this solution, but in a pinch it's better than leaving out protein all together.

Hey Lisa,
I don't know if you read the part on Nikkis blog about meal and food ideas, but you may want to re read it and jot down some ideas that you like before you go shopping. Those ideas come from a nutritionist. Also, read the part about eating out healthy fast food style. There are some good ideas there as well.
